Puma starts 2017 in style, with the release of its brand-new POWER boot, the all new evoPOWER Vigor 1.

The new design oversees the biggest overhaul, in terms of design, we’ve seen in any Puma POWER boot in recent times.

Power and accuracy, are the two features at the heart of the Vigor 1 and expect to see Puma’s POWER everywhere, with stars including Arsenal’s Oliver Giroud and Petr Cech, as well as Mario Balotelli, ready to suit up.

Puma says upgrades have been made to every possible inch possible of the evoPOWER Vigor 1, making the style even more revolutionary and technical than anything previously seen from the brand.

It’s a POWER collection first with features that include a flexible Spandex sock construction which creates the barefoot feeling. The sock lining bonds with Puma’s all new AccuFoam upper technology, boasting a newly created 3D format.

The PU foam dots register an uneven surface when the player’s foot connects with the ball, aiding ultimate precision when the ball is struck with POWER. Its designers say the Puma’s Adap-Lite material completes the upper of the POWERFUL Vigor 1 with a new support cage that gives the foot the ability to bend.

The next generation Vigor’s one-way stretchable microfiber upper supports the biomechanics of the foot while further improvements are found on the insole and outsole, with both areas fully complimenting the brand new technical updates found in the upper.

Puma’s newly crafted GripTex technology on the sock’s inside lining, is designed to give the best grip and minimise slipping. The outsole remains unchanged and shows a mix of both bladed and conical studs.

After extensive testing and research, Puma has included bladed studs to ensure stability and conical studs to maximise speed.

But we’ll let Puma’s General Manager for Teamsport, Matthias Mecking comment on the science behind the design. “In order to tackle the design we closely examined our top players in action,’’ he says.

“We examined the way Olivier Giroud transfers every bit of power into strikes and Balotelli’s final third domination and powerful goals. We examined what the body naturally brings to the ball and how we can give it more impact and even better aim, and took each boot material to the next level.’’

Put simply, the evoPOWER VIGOR 1 is PUMA’s most technical offering to date, and brings you even closer to the ball for even greater power, or as Giroud says – “it is ridiculously comfortable’’.
