FTBL's Matt McIndoe journeyed to North Seaford Reserve to witness an intriguing seven-goal contest as Boronia edged the Seaford Tigers 4-3 in the Bayside League Division 3.

Boronia started the contest the stronger side and got away to a two goal lead thanks to Hayden Rogers, including a beautiful move to round the keeper and then a casual finish into the near open net.

That didn’t deter a spirited Seaford outfit that was spearheaded by a superb performance from Jarryd Tafia sporting new turbocharged Ace 17’s.

He dragged his side back into the contest by scoring a brace, but Boronia always looked in control and soon scored again with Hayden Rogers completing his hat trick.

There was one more Boronia goal midway through the second half which restored the two-goal cushion.

Seaford being full of younger lads finished the game with a wet sail and almost pinched a point after Kayne Jackson was able to capitalise on a keeper out of position to score from 30 yards.

The boys from Seaford continued to attack the Boronia net in the last 15 minutes but couldn’t break through with the Boronia boys claiming three points on the road.
