United Coach Aurelio Vidmar informed the trio that they would not be part of the club’s 2008/09 plans once their contracts expire in June.

Bajic was a member of Adelaide United’s inaugural 2003/04 squad, making a total of 48 appearances which comprised of 32 in the Hyundai A-League.

“We have secured two extremely good goal keepers in Beltrame and Galekovic for next season and while Robert has been a terrific club person during his time here, we could not keep him,” Vidmar said.

A former Qantas Young Socceroos Captain, Ontong managed 9 appearances in his debut Hyundai A-League Season, the 21 year old winning Adelaide United’s Best Team Man Award along the way.

“Shaun can find himself extremely unlucky. We made a decision that we didn’t think he would be a starting eleven player next season, and we think it is important that he finds some first team football to continue his development,” Vidmar said.

Ontong in the meantime has signed a two year deal with the Newcastle Jets and could join his new team mates before United’s 2008 AFC Champions League Group Stage campaign ends.

“While it is disappointing to be leaving Adelaide, it will be an exciting new challenge for me in Newcastle, and I look forward to cementing a spot with the Jets and moving into the next chapter of my career,” Ontong said.

“I want to thank Aurelio Vidmar and the Adelaide United Football Club for giving me an opportunity to be part of their squad and helping me to develop and improve both as a player and a person. I wish the club all the best for the future.”

Sydney born Susak was given a one year contract after trialling with The Reds during the 2007 Pre-season Cup, the defender having had experience in Serbia’s first division with Vojvodina before joining The Reds.

“We have quite a number of central defenders and unfortunately for Milan someone had to miss out,” Vidmar said.

“However in saying that, I want to thank these guys for the contributions they have made to the club and wish them all of the best for the future.”

Bajic, Ontong and Susak join striker Dez Giraldi and Dutchman Bobby Petta as players who have not had their contracts renewed, while veteran defender Richie Alagich will retire from professional football at the conclusion of the AFC Champions League 2008 Group Stage.
