The Sydney outfits will do battle at Edensor Park for a semi-final spot and Antelmi believes the A-League outfit will be feeling the heat.

“In these kinds of games anything can happen,” he told FourFourTwo.

“They’ve got more pressure than us because they’re going to have to come out and actually beat us, where as we’ve got nothing to lose. We can just go there and whatever happens happens.

“But I do believe in the squad that we have and the team that we have for the last two seasons. If we turn up like we have done lately, do what we do best, then we’ll have a good chance of winning.

“They’re in pre-season so they might be a gear behind. But then again, they’re professionals so they’ll conduct themselves well enough.”

Blacktown City are on a high after defeating Sydney United 3-0 in the NPL NSW grand final with Antelmi coming off the bench to score City’s second goal of the match.

“We could have been a bit of a better that what we were [in the grand final], but at the end of the day it’s very important to finish your chances and that’s what we did,” Antelmi said.

“We got three chances and we finished them all. The prep’s been good, obviously coming off the grand final. The boys are still on a bit of high and training’s been good.

“We’ve done well this year, winning the final, now with our FFA Cup run. Who knows what can happen next? Hopefully it continues further, that’s the aim."

The Demons have a number of ex-A-League players in their team including Travis Major, Mitch Mallia, Joey Gibbs, Matthew Lewis and Zachary Cairncross. Antelmi spent a number of years playing in the UK with Portsmouth, Leeds United and Wigan before returning to Australia in 2014.

“We’ve got the second-best defensive record in the league,” the forward said.

“Our midfield have been doing the job, they’ve been the engine of the team, and we’ve got our attacking third where they’ve been finishing off and doing what we do best."

Antelmi is happy with his form but believes there’s still room for improvement. The 22-year old, who has trialed with Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC in the past, remains focused on an A-League berth or an opportunity to head back overseas.

“I think I’ve scored 18 goals this season,” the 22-year old said.

“I’ve done well and I look to keep up that form if I come on or if I’m starting. That’s the main thing. I’m happy but there’s more – I keep striving for a bit more.”

“There is a good opportunity, not just for myself but for the team, on Wednesday night to show what we have and what potential we have.”
