Fahid Ben Khalfallah says he wants to retire in Melbourne Victory colours and has no plans of leaving the city once his career finishes.
The Victory winger has maintained his love for Melbourne since signing in 2014 and was involved in a Premiership/Championship and FFA Cup triumph in his time.
Ben Khalfallah’s playing contract ends at the end of this season however wants to continue until 2018 and to be involved at Victory behind the scenes after he hangs up the boots.
“I definitely want to stay here and enjoy my life here. I think I can help the club because I have a lot of experience from Europe,” Ben Khalfallah told FourFourTwo at the new Adidas home store at Westfield Southland.
“I’m still happy to play and I hope I can play one more season, sign a new contract and maybe finish in a year and a half.
“It’s safe to live here, the kids, the people are so friendly and I love it - this city and this club gave me everything and I want to stay here in Australia.
“Everyone knows how much I love Melbourne, for me it’s the best city in the world and for my family we’re very happy.
“After my career I want to work with the club and maybe to start coaching in the academy or even to be in the office, I don’t know, we still have to talk about it.”
The Tunisian is already planning on enrolling his eight-year-old daughter Anna in an Australian Primary School after undergoing French-English education since their arrival two years ago.
The French-born Tunisian also said safety was also paramount after playing for a cluster of clubs in Ligue 1 and in late 2015 he was outspoken to condem the aftermath of the Paris attacks.

He also admitted his family’s well-being was a key factor in the continuation of residing in Melbourne and Anna in particular was influential in his decision.
“Just to see my daughter and family happy like that, it makes me happy, to be honest I’ve got everything, I love playing football, it’s my life and my family is happy and I can’t ask for anything more,” he said.
“I think Australian people take it for granted (lifestyle), that’s one thing… well to be honest I love it because in their minds - they don’t care about what happens overseas or in other countries. They enjoy the life, they’re very happy.
“Sometimes you have people who like to complain, so when I see Australian people complaining about their life or their country, you can’t do it because your country is the best country in the world to be honest, you should enjoy it.
“That’s the nature, everybody complains about something, but if you look at it... Australia’s the best country in the world.”
