Sydney’s three wins in a row is their best ever start to an A-League season. The Sky Blues head to the Hunter against the Jets who are also unbeaten in the league after two gutsy draws and a win.

Capturing two away wins from their road trip would be a boost before coming home against Victory, but Brosque is looking at the team’s overall form as the biggest factor in getting the win.

“It's important not just because the Melbourne game is coming up, but because it's important to continue getting wins while we still gel as a team,” he said.

“It'll be great to have the first Big Blue at home and taking two good results against Wellington and Newcastle into that match would be ideal.”

After scoring 20 goals in 10 games in all competitions this season Brosque says that the Sky Blues' attack can get even better.

“I definitely think with the amount of attacking options we have this season we definitely can,” he said.

“We've worked a lot on our attack this year and even though it's been great so far, it'll only get better. We've really strengthened the squad all over the park.

"They'll continue to get better as the season goes which will then be when our squad will reach its potential.”

After starting in their FFA Cup win over Canberra Olympic last week the 31-year-old has yet to make the first team in the A-League. But Brosque is content with his current role, and feels it can help the team in its quest to win silverware.

“It will be very tough for anyone who finds themselves out of the starting 11,” he said. “But that's what we need to have if we want to win titles.

"We need that competition and everyone pushing each other. So I'm more than happy playing my role off the bench and making sure I help the team and have an impact when I do.”
