Former Socceroo John Filan has left his post as assistant coach of Shrewsbury Town following the sacking of manager John Askey.
Filan joined the Shrews in June, following Askey to the club from Macclesfield Town.
But Shrewsbury Town have struggled this season and sit in 18th spot in League One. They have won just four of their 17 games so far.

On Sunday the Shrews draw 1-1 in the FA Cup with non-league outfit Salford City.
Goalkeeper Filan played in the NSL and in England for more than a decade. The 48-year-old was capped twice for the Socceroos.
