GK Mark Birightiti
(Newcastle Jets)
Played a very sound match against Victory on Friday night. Did concede but wasn’t at fault for the goal as it was a cut back and defending could have been better. Definitely asserting himself as a regular number 1 goalkeeper in the A-League.

DL Riley Woodcock
(Perth Glory)
Helped his side to a clean sheet. Won turnovers and made clearances. Was the stand out left back in the A-League this weekend.

DC Matthew Spiranovic
(Western Sydney Wanderers)
He’s doing himself favours to put himself in the picture to be a possible World Cup squad contender. In solid form and performed very well under pressure in Saturday night's derby versus Sydney FC. Full credit goes to him.

DC Nikola Petkovic
(Sydney FC)
Although in a losing side, Nikola is fast gaining a very good reputation in the A-League as a solid defender and people are starting to take notice. Has a very tall strong presence, reads the game very well. Sydney will be doing everything to commit him to a longer term stay.

DR Matthew Davies
(Perth Glory)
The young 18 year old has earnt his selection in 442 team of week after performing admirably under interim boss Kenny Lowe. The gaffer his given his troops a lot more confidence and it’s rubbing off onto the team and Matthew has been a recipient of this.

ML Adrian Zahra
(Perth Glory)
Was rewarded with a rare start for Perth and has been working hard over the last couple of years since his knee injury against Melbourne Victory. He took his chance very well, combining with a lot of passes and scored a sharp crisp goal by starting on the left hand side, cutting into the middle and driving a well-placed shot into the back of the net.

MC Steven Lustica
(Adelaide United)
Is having his best A-League season in his career. His hard work is paying off. Has a great engine and makes a lot of tackles, wins balls, distributes well. Even creates opportunities and in addition has got on the score sheet this year. Adelaide did have a numerical disadvantage after Ferreira was sent off however Steven put paid to Brisbane’s determination.

MC Matt McKay
(Brisbane Roar)
Must be loving life at Brisbane. Back to his usual role where he’s been a part of two titles. Always dangerous when he has the ball, is a fantastic creator and definitely helped Brisbane’s revival back into the match.

MR Youseff Hersi
(Western Sydney Wanderers)
Had a long lay off and has now returned into the starting side with improving performances. Call it an accidental assist however he did setup the ball to Santalab. Has a knack of creating dangerous situations in the final third and is a match winner.

SC Shane Smeltz
(Perth Glory)
Didn’t play much game time coming on the last 20 minutes after a lengthy lay off with injury but what an impact he made for his side’s 3-0 win. He’s the highest scoring player in A-League history. He certainly hasn’t lost any ability and he must be delighted with his return.

SC Matt Simon
(Central Coast Mariners)
Another player that has a knack of scoring goals consistently in the A-League. Rocketed a volley into the back of the net in difficult conditions in Wellington. Maybe he should put his hand up for taking penalties after Daniel McBreen’s glaring miss.
