Inter Milan have innovated on their iconic blue and black stripes design for their 2019/20 home kit, with the newest iteration from Nike dividing fan opinion online.

Quite unlike local rival AC Milan, Inter have subverted tradition with the release of next season’s home strip, with the jersey’s famous blue and black vertical stripes being broken by a series of a diagonal stripes just below chest-level.

Drawing inspiration from the 1988/89 season, where the away strip featured a similar diagonal stripes theme, the shirt also features another throwback to a previous season, with the shirt’s white v-neck honouring the club’s home strip from 2006/07.

Nike’s iconic ‘Swoosh’ logo appears in white on the left breast, which compliments the shirt’s white-trimmed sleeves and Pirelli’s white front-of-shirt sponsorship logo, whilst black shorts and blue and black socks complete the kit.

Finding themselves locked in a four-way battle for Champions League qualification with Atalanta, AC Milan and Roma, The Nerazzurri will head into the final matchday of the Serie A season hoping for a win at home against relegation-candidates Empoli.
