Jedinak has not featured in a game for Villa since a 1-1 draw with Bristol City in late September. The Australian has battled injuries and then not had a look in under new boss Dean Smith.

But the former Socceroo skipper remains content at Villa.

"As strange as it sounds, I am enjoying my football, I am enjoying going into work every day and working doubly hard to try and make myself get back into the team," he told talkSPORT.

"That’s something I have done for as long as I know. I am enjoying the sessions, I am enjoying trying to help wherever I can in every which way.

"It’s not just the games, it’s the training and being around that and making sure that that’s right.

"I am enjoying it to be honest with you. I am enjoying the environment and I am enjoying going into work every day."

Jedinak featured regularly at the start of the season in central defence under Steve Bruce. But Bruce was sacked in early October and replaced by Smith.

Since then the midfielder has yet to feature for the new manager.

Jedinak claims the coaching change at the club "has been refreshing".

"We have had a management change and I can honestly say that it’s been refreshing for the group and although results have been sort of mixed there’s a very good atmosphere around the place," he said.

"That’s all you can want, everyone seems to be in a good place as regards to enjoying their football and trying to create a positive mindset - not just the team but throughout the whole club."
