Socceroo Aaron Mooy committed a back-pass blunder but also played a key part as Huddersfield firmed up their grip on a play-offs spot with a 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion overnight.
Mooy’s Town clinched three valuable points to sit fifth on the Championship table, six points clear of sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday with 18 games to play.
Huddersfield took an early lead through Tom Smith, before Mooy’s weak headed back-pass fell well short of its intended target.
It allowed Brighton’s Tomer Hemed to swoop and round Town goalkeeper Daniel Ward to make it 1-1.
Mooy had his moments, though, with his piercing ball finding Nakhi Wells whose effort rebounded to Elias Kachunga to make it 3-1 right on half-time.
The Australian had a second-half chance of his own, firing in a 25-yard strike which hit the base of the right post.
