Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones saved a penalty as Feyenoord drew 1-1 away to Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League overnight.
The 34-year-old shot-stopper has been in good form with the Dutch giants and continued that against the Ukrainian club.
Jones saved Rafael Forster’s powerful 44th minute penalty, but the Brazilian defender swooped on the rebound and slotted to make it 1-1.
Earlier, Jones made an excellent finger-tip save from Zeljko Ljubenovic’s curling free-kick, after Nicolai Jorgensen gave Feyenoord the lead.
In the second half, 10-man Feyenoord came under more pressure and Jones also completed another good diving save from Igor Chaikovskiy’s long-range effort on 68 minutes.
Fenerbahce defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the other game in Group A, meaning Feyenoord drops to second but level with the Turkish club on seven points.
Unfortunately, Jones sustained a thigh injury in the match, ruling him out of the weekend's Eredivisie fixture.
Bad news for @Brad_Jones1: due to a thigh injury he won't be able to play this Sunday's away match against #GoAheadEagles. #zorfey
