Roar defender Daniel Bowles requires major knee surgery which will rule him out of football for the rest of 2017.
The injury occurred after a collision with a Melbourne City player in the 88th minute of last Saturday night’s match at AAMI Park in the A-League competition.
Bowles had an MRI Scan on his right knee and it has been confirmed he has suffered a rupture to his right Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and has some associated damage to surrounding cartilage.
“Surgery will now be performed as soon as possible to allow rehabilitation and recovery to commence,” Roar said in a statement.
“BRFC will support Daniel throughout his recovery, providing the best possible medical care and help him make a successful return to action in 2018.”
