Western Sydney Wanderers captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley was today granted temporary leave to pursue other opportunities.
The centre back is in talks with an overseas club and will be unavailable for Friday night’s match against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.
The Wanderers sought to offload him to other A-League clubs in the off-season.
The 31-year-old is one of the club’s highest earners and one of only two foundation players still at the Wanderers.
His exit leaves the club short following Aritz Borda’s suspension after being red-carded during the derby loss to Sydney FC on Saturday.
