Uruguay forward Luis Suarez said Wednesday that he was not bothered who his country meets in the round of 16, after the South American side booked their place in the knockout stages following a 1-0 win against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
“I am happy that Uruguay advanced to the Round of 16, the third World Cup in a row. It is a right [you get] for all the hard work… As for our potential Round of 16 opponents, it does not matter who we play against. This is the World Cup, all [the teams] are strong... It will be 11 players against 11 players, but I am proud that we have made it this far to the Round of 16,” Suarez told journalists.
The Barcelona striker netted the only goal for his side, which was his first of the tournament. Uruguay will take on hosts Russia on 25 June in Samara.
