Tonight
Central Coast Mariners v Perth Glory
The Mariners are showing enough quality in flashes to suggest they will take a top four spot and then have a decent shot at the finals. They were unlucky against Melbourne last week and when playing Perth most teams almost expect maximum points. Perth picked up their first win last week, but once again it’s difficult to see where their points are going to come from this season.
Verdict: Home win

Saturday
Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets
Buoyant after an incredible Asian Champions League win mid-week, Adelaide will look to maintain momentous against the Jets. However, as Europe’s top club will tell you, strength in depth is needed to maintain successful overseas and domestic campaigns. Adelaide were run ragged by Sydney last week, while Newcastle picked up a decent win in Queensland.
Verdict: Tight draw

Sunday
Wellington Phoenix v Sydney FC
Poor old Wellington. After so much promise last season, they can’t seem to get their campaign off the ground. Their new look back-line hasn’t gelled and in town this weekend is a Sydney attack to worry any A-League outfit, even without Bridge and Aloisi scoring. Wellington will land that elusive first win soon, but not in this fixture.
Verdict: Comfortable away win

Melbourne Victory v Queensland Roar
The Telstra Dome is the A-league’s toughest place to visit and if Melbourne land the minor championship, you’d fancy them to take the Grand Final at home. Queensland have started the season slowly, but shouldn’t panic, it is form in the back half of the season which lands you a place in the finals.
Verdict: Three more home soil points for Melbourne
