"READY to show the potential he has always had," an Adelaide City fan replied when quizzed on the talents of Fred Agius.

A quote which could more or less sum up half our squad, not just the attacking youngster, for many, the talent is there but has so far not been shown on a consistent basis. Even James Robinson, who this blog has been highly critical of in the past, has shown glimpses of talent in his three-year stint in the A-League.

It's these signings, low-key players such as Marton Vass, Chris Grossman, Fred Agius and James Robinson that may well decide the extent of NQ Fury's success in our debut season. Not necessarily the most superlative signings to date, but quite possibly the ones that will play a leading-role in the on-field success of the club.

One such example is Marton Vass, who was in the NSW Premier League with APIA Leichhardt when a possible deal with the Fury materialised. With there thought to be only enough room left in the kitty for one or two big signings, players such as Vass will play a more important role than many may expect.

When injuries and suspensions come into action like they so often do or when the team is heading towards a loss, it will be the unknown quantities of Marton Vass or Fred Agius that will be called on to make an impact. Perhaps not the most flattering position to be in, but the reality is that if every player doesn't put in, it is unlikely NQ Fury fans will see their side take out a top six berth.

"The most talented player in Adelaide by a long way needs to be given the chance to play at the next level," one Adelaide City fan declared. That chance began for such players on April 4th when the club took to the field for their first ever training session.

As the media focused its attention on Robbie Fowler, Ian Ferguson didn't have his attention solely focused on the Liverpool legend, with Fergie given his first chance to see the State League recruits in action. Ferguson too would have kept an eye effort of other recruits who spent much of the season on the pine or in the Youth League for their respective A-League club's went.

As you may have noticed by now, NQ Fury have not got the most eye-catching squad in the A-League, rather a solid squad that will rely on the performance of the entire squad not individual talents. If Ian Ferguson is going to start off his coaching role as successful as he did in his playing career the Scot will be have his low-profile signings to thank as much as the Scott Wilson's and Robbie Fowler's of the squad.

The latest Fury related rumour floating round is that the club will take on Singapore in a friendly, it won't be a chance for home fans to see their side in action though as it would be played in front of a Singapore audience.

"The Fury have been looking for a big game in Asia to kickoff their pre season and our FA are very, very keen," the source told tribalfootball.

"Having someone of Fowler's profile will be huge for fans over here and to see him in a competitive [match], me is sure to guarantee massive interest."
