Kevin. I think we need to talk. It's not me it's you. Do you remember when I said everything was alright? I lied. That's right Kevin, we are breaking up.

Why? Why Kevin? Do I really need to explain? I won't deny we have had a great time for the last six years. I will remember fondly the years 2006/07 and 2008/09 when you lead us admirably to the premiership/championship double. Those were good times I will admit. 2009/10 wasn't so great and you missed what you never miss. And against Sydney to boot. We possibly should have called it quits then but you thought it would be good to go around again.

When we were first going together back in 2005/06 it was all a new experience so I could excuse a few red cards. It was something I hadn't experienced before and your semi-constant absences were over quick back in those days. I guess we all got caught up in that heady year of our first year together.

The following years were all a blur. You were a great leader and an inspiration to your teammates. You went from defence to midfield and back again and most of the time it was good times. Good times because you were playing well and leading by example. Those absences became less and less. We saw even more of each other.

Good times because you annoyed the fans of other clubs because in their opinion you were untouchable. It was the times of heady romance and I thought what the hell if you're getting away with it. And did I mention it annoyed the hell out of opposition fans. I forgave you your niggling ways and your constant haranguing of the referee. Mainly because it annoyed those opposition fans. Maybe I've mentioned that before.

As I said earlier I think we should have called it quits earlier last year after not quite getting the send off you so desired. But I stood by you as opposition fans and commentators stuck the boot in. They talked of karma. By the way, what did you ever do to Jesse Fink?

I thought we could go around one time and for a while I thought it was all okay but two weeks ago I saw something I hadn't seen for a while, I saw a red mist. Maybe it was frustration at an unexpected loss to Adelaide but I could see that red card coming a mile off. I thought it may have been a one off, I mean we all have slip ups. I could almost forgive you but it was oh so obvious.

But then Kevin there was the straw that broke the camel's back. That tackle. You say it was mistimed. I could see it coming a mile off. It was like watching a car crash knowing it was going to happen and not being able to do anything about it. You see, I saw the red mist appear again and this time it was unforgivable. That's why I'm calling it quits.

Is there another Victory player? Yes, there is another. There are 24 other Victory players. You see you are not bigger than the club and I see a promising future for us together. Yes we have had our good times but those times are behind us and it's time we went our separate ways.
