While bossman Richie has been away, I’ve been filling in for him and do you know the hardest parts of this job? Trying to find a recent picture of Craig Moore playing, or a pic of Frank Farina where he doesn’t look like he’s about to burst into tears. And writing a story about Ross Aloisi where he’s not sooking about something or other. I reckon they could make a great film of his life: Aloisi, Queen Of The Dummy Spit.

Aloisi does sound like he’s been hard done by at Adelaide – ending your contract one year early is bad enough, but being told your career’s over too is a bit rich. His idea of bouncing back and bolstering the midfield at Victory is interesting. ‘Imagine me, Musky and Brebner in the midfield?’ Well, yes, Ross. Imagine. I do find it easier to imagine you in the stands watching Musky and Brebner in midfield, however... It's still stuffed Adelaide's chances of ever signing Ross's Socceroo striker brother, John Aloisi, though.

Dwight Yorke has been talking about how much he enjoyed living and playing in Sydney, and it was only a personal approach by Roy Keane that persuaded him to leave for Sunderland. But he’s not all the nice guy he appears. On the subject of Graeme Souness, his old boss at Blackburn Rovers, Yorke rages: “It does not surprise me that he’s out of a job because almost every club he’s gone to, he’s not done it as a manager. He’s f***ed up most of the time.” I wonder how he would have rated Terry Butcher compared to Souness if he had hung around a bit longer...

Harry Kewell’s set to make his comeback in the reserves to ease him back into being match fit again. Apparently he’s as rusty as the cutlery in David Hicks’ sink.

Do you think A-League sponsors Hyundai would have been delighted or dismayed that Queensland Roar coach Frank Farina was charged with drink-driving while in his corporate gold Hyundai 4WD?
