It's two v five, three v six, and four v seven while one get the week off in Round 5 of the Westfield W-League.

Having found their feet against Adelaide, the fifth-placed Melbourne will be taking on the second-placed Brisbane, who have also been improving steadily each week. Both teams will be feeling confident entering the match, with Roar also celebrating the return of Lauren Colthorpe, and all eyes will be on super sub Lisa de Vanna to score three goals in three rounds.

United will take on United in Canberra as last-placed Adelaide look to find some winning form. They'll face challenging attack and defence in the form of Canberra, which has been pacing itself steadily to perform consistently over the first four rounds. Cian Maciejewski and Ashleigh Sykes are out, however, with a respective shoulder injury and broken leg, so Adelaide, which will debut new signing Renee Harrison, will need to look for gaps in the reshuffled Canberra line up.

In the west, Perth will take on Newcastle Jets, with the former looking to regroup from their last-minute loss to Roar courtesy of Lisa de Vanna's goal and the latter brimming with confidence after Tara Andrews' two-goal snatch-and-grab win against Sydney. Further aiding Newcastle's attacking line up will be the return of Kara Mowbray, who teams up well with long-time teammate Sasha McDonnell to trouble defenders.

Although ladder leaders Sydney have a rest week with a bye, they'll be watching match results closely and refocusing to return to their winning form for the pre-Christmas Round 6.
