We're over the halfway mark and heading into the last round of football for 2010, with the W-League's round seven clashes set to be fast-paced and action-packed.

In South Australia and live and exclusive on ABC TV, the struggling Lady Reds will play host to Sydney FC, with the latter working to recapture the W-League lead from Brisbane Roar. Although they're yet to record a win in season three, the Lady Reds won't go down without a fight.

They're also likely to take heart in the fact both that Katrina Gorry returns from suspension this week and that they showed improved form against Roar in round six and managed to claw back a goal.

The clash between Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory is a must-win for both teams if they want to stay in the finals hunt. Perth's currently sitting in fourth spot, but Melbourne's within striking distance just two points and two spots behind.

The home team will be further bolstered by some old-fashioned home-town support. The match will be played as a curtain raiser to this week's Melbourne v Perth A-League match. Perth will need to bring their shooting boots.

A season one grand final rematch will round out the week's fixtures, with first-placed Roar wanting to finish the round and the year on top. They'll have their work cut out to achieve this, though, with dark-horse Canberra certain to test them across the park, and Sydney sitting hot (just one point behind) on their heels.

Expect this weekend to have an explosive, grand final-like atmosphere.
