A total of 6,000 Uruguayan fans are expected to travel to the Russian city of Yekaterinburg for their team’s match against Egypt set to be held on Friday, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, of which Yekaterinburg is the capital, Sergey Schwindt said on Wednesday.
"We are expecting 6,000 supporters from Uruguay and 2,000 supporters from Egypt. Latin American fans are a special category, they are noisy, [they love] open-air celebrations, while the Egyptians are calmer, but still have their own national flavor,” Schwindt told journalists.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country, Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg.
Egypt and Uruguay are also set to play Russia and Saudi Arabia in Group A.
