According to Popkov, about 200,000 people are expected to visit Volgograd during the tournament and each of them will receive a small souvenir.

"We've prepared around 200,000 sets of souvenirs for each guest arriving at the railway or bus station, or at the airport," the Deputy Governor said.

Popkov did not give details about the souvenirs but mentioned that they would be inexpensive and multifunction.

"The souvenir will allow [people] to remember Volgograd as a welcoming city," Popkov added.

Russia's first-ever World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 host cities. The 45,000-seat Volgograd Arena is hosting four group-stage matches.
