A total of 25.97 million people in Germany watched their national team's first match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup against Mexico on Sunday, German television network RTL have reported.
Mexico shocked defending champions Germany 1-0 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, with the only goal of the game scored by Mexico winger Hirving Lozano in the 35th minute.
Germany will next face Sweden on Saturday and South Korea on June 27.
