Paulinho gave Brazil the lead in the 36th minute, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper after a delightful cross from Philippe Coutinho.
Thiago Silva scored Brazil's second midway through the second half with a header following Neymar’s corner.
Five-time World Cup winners Brazil will take on Group F runners-up Mexico in their round of 16 match, which is set to take place in Samara on 2 July.
