Spain Defender Dani Carvajal said on Thursday that his team has been criticized for their performance at the World Cup in Russia, although Spain have not lost a match in the past two years and won their group at the tournament.
Spain are unbeaten in 23 consecutive games after an injury-time equalizer by Iago Aspas saw them draw 2-2 with Morocco on Monday.
"We have received criticism. But, after all, Spain went two years without losing, first in the group, few teams have achieved that. Nobody is saying that the [Morocco] game was good though, and neither did we," Carvajal said, as quoted by the Spanish daily Marca.
The 2010 World Cup winners will face hosts Russia in the round of 16 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
