During the tournament, the team will be based in St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city, and will be training at the Olimpiyets Stadium.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15, with the games set to take place in 11 cities across the country.

Costa Rica will play five-time World Cup champions Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland in Group E.
