 Milan Badeji broke the deadlock for Croatia, who had already qualified for the knockout stages coming into the match, in the 53rd minute. He hit a fine volley after a poor clearance past Hannes Halldorsson.

Iceland equalized from the penalty spot through Gylfi Sigurdsson, however, Ivan Perisic put his side back in front in the 90th minute securing a third victory in a row for his team.

Croatia will continue their World Cup campaign in the round of 16 against Group C runners-up Denmark.

Iceland, who were making their first appearance at the World Cup finished bottom of the group with one point.
