Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said on Saturday that the incident of Croatian side's representatives making controversial pro-Ukrainian comments following their victory over Russia was over.
"The team have apologized. Currently, yes [the incident is over]," Golodets told journalists.
After Croatia beat Russia 4-3 on penalties in the World Cup quarter-finals, a video appeared on social media showing Croatia defender Domagoj Vida chanting "Glory to Ukraine!" and Croatia coaching assistant Ognjen Vukojevic saying "This is a victory for Dynamo [Kiev] and Ukraine."
The Croatian Football Federations later suspended Vukojevic from his duties at the World Cup, while the FIFA Disciplinary Committee fined him $15,000 for unsporting behavior.
Vida avoided a ban, and soon a fresh video showing him say "Glory to Ukraine!" was published.
Later, Vida apologized for chanting pro-Ukrainian slogans.
