Egypt head coach Hector Cuper said Monday that striker Mohamed Salah's participation in the 2018 World Cup encounter with Russia would not guarantee success, but he would be Egypt's "weapon".
"[Mohamed] Salah is one of the best [football] players in the world, he is in the top ten. He is not only talented, but modest as well. For me, it's extremely important that he works for the sake of the team. Salah... can pick up speed. We can rely on him. Salah is not a guarantee of success in our match against Russia, but he's our weapon in this game," Cuper told journalists.
Salah missed Egypt's World Cup encounter with Uruguay, which they lost 1-0 on Friday, due to his shoulder injury. However, he is expected to participate in the match against Russia that will take place in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
