Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic said Wednesday that Argentina was "not reliant on just Messi", as the South American side had a whole host of players.
Croatia, who started the 2018 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Nigeria, will face Argentina, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland, in Nizhny Novgorod on Thursday.
"[Argentina forward Lionel] Messi is the best player in the world. There is no player who could stop him on his own. The whole team needs to do it. But Argentina are not reliant on just Messi. We can’t just concentrate on him, as they have other players. Our defense will be strong, but we will not only look to defend," Dalic told journalists.
