Russia defender Vladimir Granat said Wednesday that dedication and discipline were crucial for the national team if they were to beat Spain in the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup.
Russia lost 3-0 to Uruguay in their final group-stage game of the tournament and finished second in Group A. They will next face Group B winners Spain at Moscow's 78,000-seater Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
"Dedication and discipline are the most important things in the game against Spain. We must stay careful and focused throughout the match. We shouldn't be pointing out their weaknesses, in the group stage the tension is different, Spain will approach the game more responsibly in the knockout stage," Granat told journalists.
