ST PETERSBURG, June 27 (Sputnik) - Argentina Defender Gabriel Mercado said on Tuesday that his side have gone through a lot at this year's World Cup and not a single team has such desire to win as Argentina.
"Everything turned out as we wanted. As I said before, there was no one who wanted to win as much as we did. We went through a lot at this World Cup, but managed to reach the knockout stage," Mercado said.
Argentina beat Nigeria 2-1 in their final Group D match in Saint Petersburg and move to the knockout stage, where they will face Group C winners France in Kazan on Saturday.
