Russia midfielder Alan Dzagoev will be sidelined for one to two weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury during his side's 5-0 drubbing of Saudi Arabia in the FIFA World Cup opening match, President of the Russian Premier League Sergey Pryadkin said Thursday.
"Dzagoev is out for one to two weeks, it's a pity for him," Pryadkin told journalists.
The 27-year-old CSKA Moscow player pulled up on the pitch at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, injuring his left leg before being substituted in the 24th minute of the game.
Russia will next face Egypt on Tuesday and Uruguay on 25 June in their remaining two Group A matches.
