The Egyptian national football team landed in the city of Grozny, the capital of the Russian Republic of Chechnya, on Sunday where the team will be based during the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Ihab Nasr and representatives of Chechen government welcomed Egypt captain Mohamed Salah and the rest of the team in the airport.
The squad will hold their first training in Russia later on Sunday at the 31,000-seater Akhmat-Arena.
Egypt have been drawn in Group A and will play Uruguay in Yekaterinburg on June 15, hosts Russia in St. Petersburg on June 19 and Saudi Arabia in Volgograd on June 25.
