Manchester United and England striker Marcus Rashford picked up an injury during Monday's training session prior to flying to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the team's head coach Gareth Southgate said Tuesday.
"Upon arrival in Russia, Gareth Southgate told BBC Sport that Marcus Rashford picked up a knock in training yesterday – but it isn’t thought to be serious," the team posted on their official Twitter account.
Southgate also said as quoted by the BBC that the 20-year-old will pass a medical examination before England's open training session on Wednesday.
The England national team will be based in the village of Repino, near St. Petersburg during the tournament and will train at the Spartak Stadium.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place in 11 Russian cities between June 14 and July 15.
England will play Belgium, Tunisia and Panama in Group G.
