Football fans at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium booed France and Denmark players after a goalless draw in Tuesday's Group C match, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Tuesday.
The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd and ended in the first goalless draw of this summer's tournament. Both sides only needed a draw to progress to the next round.
Supporters started to whistle at the perceived lack of effort from the players on the pitch in the final minutes of the game. The booing intensified after the final whistle, but the Danish fans celebrated their draw, which was enough for them to reach the knockout stage.
France, who finished as winners in Group C, will next play the Group D runners-up, while Denmark will face the winners of that group.
