MOSCOW, May 30 (Sputnik) - Peru, who are preparing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia this summer, beat Scotland 2-0 in a friendly in the Peruvian capital Lima on Tuesday night.
Sao Paulo midfielder Christian Cueva scored from the spot in the 37th minute before Lokomotiv Moscow forward Jefferson Farfan secured the 2-0 scoreline soon after the restart.
Elsewhere, Panama, who qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in history, drew 0-0 with Northern Ireland at home.
Panama will face Belgium, England and Tunisia in Group G at the World Cup, while Peru were drawn in Group C where they will play France, Australia and Denmark.
Russia will host its first-ever FIFA World Cup between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums across 11 cities.
