Russia finished second in Group A after suffering their first World Cup defeat at the hands of Uruguay 3-0 in Samara on Monday.

"Beautiful stadium, difficult game, but great public and everything is fantastic. Congratulations to Uruguay and congratulations to Russia as well," Infantino told journalists on Monday.

Russia will play 2010 World Cup champions Spain, reigning European champions Portugal or Iran from Group B in their round of 16 match.
