France forward Antoine Griezmann said his team has written a new page in France’s football history after winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
On Monday (AEST), France beat Croatia 4-2 in the final at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium to lift their second World Cup trophy. Griezmann was named the man of the match.
"I always put the team first, because we played at the tournament like a team. I know that our team have written a new page in France’s football history and maybe our kids will be proud of us. But we must enjoy the moment for now," Griezmann said.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and came to a close on Sunday with 64 games played in 11 cities across the country.
