World-Cup bound France cruised past Ireland 2-0 in a friendly match, which was held at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the French northern city of Lille late on Monday.
French striker Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, and midfielder Nabil Fekir doubled their advantage one minute before the halftime break.
The Socceroos kick-off their campaign against France on June 16 at 8pm (AEST). Peru and Denmark complete the Group C line up.
Russia will host its first World Cup from June 14 to July 15. The fixtures will be played at 12 stadiums across 11 cities.
