MOSCOW, July 8 (Sputnik) - Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen said on Sunday that the upcoming World Cup semi-final against France could turn out to be even more difficult than their game with Brazil in the quarter-finals.
"France have initially been one of the favorites to win the tournament and I think it might be even more difficult to play against them than Brazil," Vermaelen said.
"We are not thinking about our latest victory but only about how to play against France, how to win, because if we fail, it's going to be a great disappointment."
After beating Brazil 2-1, Begium will face France in Saint Peterburg on Tuesday.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the final set to be played at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
