France did not give in to panic after Argentina scored their third goal in the last minutes of the round of 16 game on Saturday, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris said.
Argentina were defeated 4-3, scoring the third goal in stoppage time, while France advanced to the last eight.
“When we were losing during the game, we managed to show our skill through personal qualities, returned into the game thanks to psychology, reversed the game and led it to the logical ending. We controlled the situation. Even after the third conceded goal we did not succumb to panic,” Lloris told journalists after the game.
In the quarter-finals, France will face Uruguay or Portugal.
