NIZHNY NOVGOROD, July 5 (Sputnik) - France head coach Didier Deschamps said Thursday that striker Antoine Griezmann knew both the strong and weak points of Uruguay defenders and his Atletico Madrid teammates Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez.
France, who claimed their only World Cup title on home turf in 1998, will take on two-time former champions Uruguay in the quarter-finals of this summer's tournament in Nizhny Novgorod on Friday.
"Gimenez and Godin know Griezmann, but Antoine [Griezmann] knows them as well, he knows their strong and weak points... Gimenez and Godin will do their best to prevent Antoine from playing the decisive role. But Griezmann knows how to cope with them," Deschamps told journalists.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
