Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano said on Saturday that France were stronger than his side in the World Cup round of 16 match.
France beat Argentina 4-3 in a pulsating encounter in Kazan on Saturday and will move through to the quarter-finals, where they will play Uruguay or Portugal while Argentina were eliminated from the tournament.
"I did everything I could for the team, as well as everyone in the squad, but the opponent was strong and, sadly, stronger than us. They'd prepared very well, indeed. We should accept that with honor," Mascherano told journalists.
