Former Germany defender and 2014 World Cup champion Philipp Lahm said Friday that Germany have excellent players, who have the potential to go a long way at the 2018 World Cup, but a lot will depend on luck.
"I have a very high regard for our team. They will go a long way [at the World Cup]. Our team has some excellent players, but a lot depends on luck as well," Lahm told journalists.
Germany will play their first World Cup match against Mexico in Moscow at the 78,000-seater Luzhniki stadium in Moscow on 17 June before taking on Sweden and South Korea.
