Uruguay defender and captain Diego Godin said on Friday that his side lacked cohesion as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of France and were eliminated from the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
France defeated Uruguay 2-0 in their World Cup quarter-final match in Nizhny Novgorod on Friday.
"I thank my teammates, they did their best today. Today we lacked cohesion when we faced very strong opponents. This bitter defeat proves once again that anything can happen in football. We'll certainly avenge," Godin told journalists.
