Panama head coach Hernan Dario Gomez said Monday that Panama had "quite a good" match against Belgium earlier on Monday.
"This first match was very difficult for Panama... They [Belgium] left us no space. They have amazing players. We managed to gain the necessary speed, but didn't manage to complete the attacks. We were cautious. We are a young team, we should... develop. We lost concentration after the first goal... We had a couple of chances to score. We could finish the encounter with a 1-3 or a 2-3 score... We had quite a good match, but the rival was very strong," Gomez told journalists.
Belgium thrashed Panama 3-0 in the teams' first World Cup match in Sochi earlier on Monday.
"It was a great experience, and we coped, it was not so bad. There is a very big difference between Belgium and Panama, but no one likes to lose," Gomez added.
