According to Stanislav Kuznetsov, the deputy chairman of Sberbank's executive board,"cyberthreats always have been and will remain. We see certain cyber-risks and we notice hackers' increased interest in the FIFA World Cup."

The official noted that the government and banks took certain measures to mitigate the risks of cyberattacks. However, Kuznetsov added, the bank had not enhanced cyber-protection directly for the World Cup, but was ready to do it if necessary.

In May, Kuznetsov told Sputnik that the Russian economy could lose at least one trillion rubles in 2018 because of cybercrimes.
