Denmark head coach Age Hareide said on Tuesday that Croatia, his team’s possible opponents in the round of 16, were a "strong team" and his side had to be “smart” playing against them.
The match between Denmark and France in Moscow on Tuesday ended in goalless draw. France top Group C with seven points, followed by Denmark, who finished on five.
“Croatia are a very solid team, they can bring surprises… We saw them play, they are strong. The match will be intense, we need to play smart,” Hareide told journalists.
Denmark will face the Group D winners in their round of 16 match. Croatia are currently top of the pool with six points and can only be overtaken if Nigeria beat Argentina and Croatia lose to Iceland.
